CHICAGO: We’re playing a show this Friday

We’re playing our first show in four years, this Friday at Quencher’s. It’s part of the whole big PRF BBQ thing. We play at 9:30, supposedly.

There’s a Facebook event, which I guess is how this shit is done now?

Jason Molina

Jason Molina was our friend. He was one of the primary motivators and cheerleaders for our band, and his love and friendship will outlast his death. We are better people for having known him.

“Devices + Emblems” LP is out of print

Don’t say we didn’t warn you. It’s still available digitally, of course, with the two songs from no. 7 included.

MP3/FLAC/other format downloads are available at the Tre Orsi Bandcamp site. (We get all the money from these.) You can also purchase at iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, and other online retailers.

New t-shirt design available

Have you not given us enough money lately? Rectify that situation immediately by purchasing one of our new t-shirts from Works Progress.

Two color design, two different shirt colors to choose from. All printed with care and respect by the great Kangaroo Press.

July 24: Granada Theater w/ Mission of Burma

We are very fortunate to have been asked to play with Mission of Burma in Dallas. How could we say no? We couldn’t, of course.

We play first, so get there early if you want to hear all new G.G. Allin jokes.

Tre Orsi on WFMU today, 3pm Eastern

During our rampage of the Northeastern US with Martha’s Vineyard Ferries back in August, we recorded a live set at the WFMU studio for Terre T’s Cherry Blossom Clinic show. This was like getting an audience with the Pope while having to try your hardest not to cuss.

Terre and Paul and Stu treated us like kings, and it’s an honor to be part of her awesome show. Thanks guys! You can listen live today, 3pm Eastern at, or stream it later at your convenience at

One last bit: we only have 4 copies of Devices + Emblems left in stock at Works Progress. (The no. 7 single is sold out already.) If you ever wanted a physical copy of it, now’s your time.

Tomorrow night: Dallas with Nervous Curtains and The Counterlife

Hey Dallas! Real quick-like: we’re playing a rare Dallas show tomorrow, Sat Nov 6, with our great friends Nervous Curtains and soon-to-be-friends The Counterlife from Arkansas.

This is going down at the Pastime Tavern, which is at 1503 S Ervay St. Starts at 9pm. It’s our only show for the foreseeable future, so come and get your fill of Terveet Kädet jokes.

Tomorrow night in Denton — with Casiotone FTPA

Our good friend, Owen Ashworth, is on his final tour ever as Casiotone For The Painfully Alone. We’re helping celebrate CFTPA’s death with this show at Dan’s in Denton.

Wed Sep 29 @ Dan’s Silverleaf

August 2010 US dates

We are trekking out to New England + thereabouts in a couple of weeks to play shows with a bunch of great bands. You can’t quantify the amount of excitement we’re feeling about this. I mean, just look at this silly thing we made:

— w/ The Martha’s Vineyard Ferries (Bob Weston, Chris Brokaw, Elisha Weisner)
8/25 / CAMBRIDGE, MA / TT The Bear’s Place
— w/ The Martha’s Vineyard Ferries + Major Stars
8/26 / BROOKLYN, NY / Death By Audio
— w/ The Martha’s Vineyard Ferries
8/27 / PHILADELPHIA, PA / Johnny Brenda’s
— w/ Arc In Round + Busses
8/28 / PITTSBURGH, PA / Brillobox
— w/ The Karl Hendricks Trio
8/29 / COLUMBUS, OH / The Treehouse

We’ll have some new t-shirts, which is good news for you because everyone is sick of looking at your six-pack. Really, control yourself, ok?

You can still, of course, pick up Devices + Emblems from Comedy Minus One and Works Progress.

“Devices + Emblems” out today

Hey! Devices + Emblems is now available at all major download services, including iTunes, eMusic and Rhapsody. The digital version is courtesy of the otherwise excellent Comedy Minus One label, who also bring you great stuff from Bottomless Pit, Obits, and many others.

You can, of course, still buy a for-real vinyl copy (with digital download coupon) from Comedy Minus One or Works Progress.

We’re working on shows for August and September, in the Northeast, Midwest, and Texas. Hopefully the West coast sooner rather than later, but Joey Shithead from D.O.A. hasn’t returned any of my calls.

Also: here are a couple of nice reviews of the record from The Unblinking Ear and Dusted Magazine.
