w/ Magnolia Electric Company and Bottomless Pit

Our last time here, six months or so previous, was a darker time for the Bears. The end of a tough tour w/ lots of driving and drinking and all. But tonight, dammit, was gonna be different, ‘cuz one of the best bands in the world, Bottomless Pit, joined up with us. And they were awesome, yes. Magnolia, too, they made it a special one.

I think we did better this time, but there’s still something about the Jackpot that makes it hard to connect with people. Either that or I suck, but hey, whatever.

We ate at Local Burger before-hand, which was pretty good! I spent a lot of dough on records at Love Garden Records, which was awesome. I’ll play Lawrence again just to go there.

Stayed in Kansas City with the incomparable Nick Christus of Minus Story. We hung out with his wife and two beautiful kids in the morning, then took off for a rager at Arthur Bryant’s BBQ. Oh my.
