41: Chicago, IL @ Abbey Pub
w/ Magnolia Electric Company and Bottomless Pit
En route to Chicago, we stopped in Champaign, IL to do a little radio thing for WEFT’s show, Texas Is The Reason. It’s hosted by Meg Foreman, a Denton ex-pat and sister of The Dust Congress’ Nick Foreman. Love ‘em both.
Bryan was getting sick as a dog, but he soldiered on. He’s good like that. We showed up at the Abbey, did our thing, and hung out and enjoyed the hell out of our last night w/ Mags and the Pit.
Bryan and Jake, though, had to drive back to Texas, while Howard and I stayed in Chicago so we could catch a flight to Frankfurt to start The New Year’s European tour. What did we do on Election Night? Me and Howrad went to a party at Owen Casiotone’s place, while Jake and Bryan hauled ass 1000 miles to get home in time to miss Obama’s acceptance speech. They were grumpy, of course, but thanks to them for taking one for the team.
Like I said, after this, Howrad and I took off for Europe. I didn’t get home until Dec 1st. Now it’s January and I can’t wait to get in the wagon w/ my bros again.
